Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9/12/26

This policy explains what information JL Studio Architecture collects when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have written it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate, because a policy nobody reads protects nobody.

Who We Are

JL Studio Architecture is an architecture firm based at 4265 San Felipe St #1100, Houston, TX 77027. We provide architectural design, permit-ready construction documentation, site planning, and interior build-out services.

This policy covers jlstudioarchitecture.com. It does not cover any third-party website we link to. If you follow a link away from our site, that site's own policy applies.

What We Collect

Information you give us

When you submit our contact form, we collect the information you enter into it: your name, email address, phone number, company name, the type of project you are enquiring about, and your message.

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address.

If you email or call us directly, we hold whatever you choose to tell us in that correspondence.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, device type, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. This is generated by the server, not by us, and is used for security and to keep the site running.

Analytics

We may use website analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site, such as which pages are viewed most often. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.

How We Use It

We use the information described above to:

  • Respond to your enquiry and discuss your project
  • Prepare proposals and provide the services you ask for
  • Send our newsletter, if you have subscribed to it
  • Keep records of work we have carried out
  • Maintain the security and performance of this website
  • Meet our legal, tax, and professional obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade, rent, or otherwise make it available to third parties for their own marketing.

Who We Share It With

We share information only with service providers who help us operate, and only to the extent they need it:

  • Our website host Hostinger, which stores the site and its server logs
  • Our email newsletter platform Mailchimp, which stores subscriber email addresses and sends campaigns
  • Our email provider, through which enquiries reach us
  • Google, which serves the typeface used across this site (see Cookies and Tracking below)
  • Professional advisers such as accountants or legal counsel, where required

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, for example in response to a valid court order or a lawful request from a government authority.

Cookies and Tracking

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Our site uses cookies that are necessary for it to function, and may use cookies set by the services listed above.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Doing so may affect how parts of the site behave.

Web fonts

This site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests the font files from Google's servers, and your IP address is transmitted to Google as part of that request. This happens on every page. Google's handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy.

How Long We Keep It

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above, or as long as the law requires.

  • Enquiries that do not become projects: retained for a limited period, then deleted
  • Project records: retained after completion in line with our professional and tax obligations
  • Newsletter subscribers: retained until you unsubscribe

Your Rights

Whatever jurisdiction you are in, you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
  • Stop using your information for marketing

To make any of these requests, email contact@jlstudioarchitecture.com. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can, and we may need to verify your identity first so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send. That takes effect immediately and costs you nothing.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including secure hosting and restricted access to project files and correspondence.

We should be straightforward with you: no website or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send sensitive personal information, such as financial account details or identification documents, through the contact form on this site. If we need something of that kind during a project, we will arrange a secure method with you.

Children

Our services are directed at businesses and property owners, not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will make that clear rather than relying on you to notice a date.
